The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is One of the Most Capable Compact SUVs on the Market

Drivers around Lansdale surely know that there are few vehicles as dependable and ready for winter driving as those in the Subaru lineup, and this is especially true of the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The newest take on the much-loved compact SUV, the 2019 model year still possesses the qualities (comfort, capability, room, convenience, etc.) that car shoppers are looking for, but with a few changes to the availability of features, it packs more value than ever before.

It isn't the biggest SUV, as the compact part of the name suggests, but it is still capable of making sure none of the five passengers feel cramped, and it can carry a range of items in the cabin, on the roof racks, or on a trailer. That compact design also aids drivers that find themselves in the city a lot as it turns tightly and squeezes into tighter parking spots without a sweat, so you won't feel out of place on the highway, in the city, or when adventuring off the pavement.

What Has Changed from 2018?

The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek was the first edition of a new generation, so there aren't many major changes to the 2019 model, but there are a few that Quakertown car shoppers are sure to enjoy. The renowned EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology package is now available on every trim level while other safety features like reverse automatic braking are standard on Limited models. Plus, updates to the Starlink audio system make it easier to use and adds a CD player.

As is true of most Subaru models, the 2019 Crosstrek comes standard with the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive System, which helps maintain traction without a huge impact on fuel efficiency. Further helping acceleration and capability is a four-cylinder BOXER® engine, a Traction Control System, and Active Torque Vectoring, which make for an inherently fun drive whether you're on twisting back roads or the highway.

To ensure comfort no matter where you’re sitting, the Crosstrek has a wide back seat and more than enough leg and headroom for both rows, and, with over 20 cubic feet of space behind the second row, you can fit backpacks, camping gear, and more. Think you need more room? The 60/40 folding rear seats adapt to your passenger and cargo capacity needs so that you can fold one seat down for longer items or all seats down for bulky ones.

On top of this, the Crosstrek is available with leather upholstery if you prefer the feel of that material while features from auto climate control to multi-way adjustable front seats to heated seats make it easy to relax when on the go.

We've discussed the EyeSight® package of driver-assist features that includes Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Pre-collision Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control, and while these features may help you avoid accidents, they're not the only confidence-boosting safety features in the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. There are other advanced features, like Blind Spot Detection and steering-responsive headlights, as well as traditional safety facets, like airbags and LATCH child seat tethers, that you can depend on. Need a little more encouragement? The NHTSA gave the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating, which is their highest grade.

Trim Levels

With the same engine and build as well as the option for many of those safety features on every trim level, you can expect a lot from whichever configuration of the Crosstrek you choose, but there are some changes among them, which we've highlighted below!

The base model comes standard with a manual transmission that can really help if you're exploring rugged terrains, but a Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission is also an option. To prove its value, this trim comes standard with a tilt/telescoping steering column, a 6.5-inch multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear-vision camera, power exterior mirrors, and roof rails. Plus, it offers the EyeSight package.

2.0i Premium

The starting price only jumps $1,000 from the base to the Premium trim, but it adds a lot of features and options that we know drivers and passengers enjoy. There are fog lights, with the option for steering responsive ones, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 6-speaker sound system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and upgraded media system as well as the option for features like a power moonroof. However, the standard all-weather package is what really sells this trim level to drivers in Eastern Pennsylvania as it adds heated front seats, a windshield wiper de-icer, and heated exterior mirrors that are a life saver during cold weather.

2.0i Limited

The highest trim level should provide the best driving experience, and that is certainly true of the Limited models. It adds Keyless Access, cupholders for the rear, an 8-inch display, and a power-adjustable driver's seat, while also coming standard with the safety features of the EyeSight package, blind-spot monitoring, and steering responsive LED headlights.
